About the writer
I teach history, civics and philosophy in upper secondary school in Finland. I have been teaching on upper secondary / high school level about ten years and I have really enjoyed my work and still do. I consider myself privileged, because in our school we have nearly all the technical facilities we need for educational purposes. But I think I could use those equipment better and that's why I wanted to join this course.
About my school
Our school is quite small, only about 140 students aged from 16 to 19. We've been using iPads as part of education for two years. Each student has an own iPad, which is provided by school - although students have to pay a deposit. First we started to use these devices with the student group which started their studies at autumn 2013. In the following year the next incoming group got their iPads as well. Students can also use other devices if they wish. There is an access to wifi in every classroom.
